Does the GL1 capture broadcast quality video? I know, I know, "broadcast quality" is vague. Is it comparable to a Digi beta?
With the new Apple G4 733, I'm rethinking the way I do business.
I have an infomercial comming up for a client. I do the directing (as I have in the past), but I work at an ad agency, not a production house.
The production house wants $20k for the project. I'm thinking of hiring freelancers to do lighting and camera, and and buying a GL1 and a new G4 (for a savings of about $10k). Get a copy of Final Cut, a large and fast hard drive... and, well...
Can't I do this? Will it look like crap on TV? (It will air on broadcast and cable) Or will it look equal to a digi beta?
Yes, experience helps. And I'll hire freelancers for that. But is the equipment equal? I can learn Final Cut and do the editing myself.
Any sage advice would be greatly appreciated.
