I guess my question is about tape TYPE.... Can't Post

Im will be shooting with a Canon Xl1s. What type of tape do you guys (and girls) recommend...mindv or dvcam? What is the difference? Are there audio sync issues that I need to be concerned about (i.e. audio drifting out of sync with either format)....and is audio sample rate a factor when choosing a tape format (for sync issues)?
Your input is appreciated!
Thanks,
G

I'm not a big fan of Sony tape because there have been some reports that it may be linked to excessive head clogs. There's nothing conclusive on that, but I figure why bother with it? I like Fuji brand, but also use Panasonic brand: it is recommended you stick with ione brand. As for DV and DVCAM: the exact same thing is recorded to tape no matter which type you use. DVCAM supposedly is better for archival purposes because it uses more tape than DV for a given length of video. The choice of tape has nothing to do with sync issues and for audio you always want to use 48kHz audio.
