i have a GL! and a elura ... yes you can see the difference between them ... you can intercut them if there is a BIG difference in the shots (angle, or wideshot to CU )
the problem with the ELURA's- you have NO control on the GAIN setting ... so a interior shot on the elura might have 3-6 db gain while the GL is at 0 gain ... the elura might have the gain ON while the F stop is at 5.6 and you may only need it at 2.8 with NO gain but it will NOT allow you to manually change the gain ... changing the F stop to 2.8 only makes the scene brighter..... you can manually chaneg F stop , shutter .....
i did a quick look at the elura II and it looked like it did the same ...
when i do a 2 camera shoot .. i use the GL on the wider shot and the elura on CU
: I have been using a canon XL1 for a year now, and was thinking about bying a second camera. My first choice is the GL1, but what about an elura 2 MC. Does this camera have almost the same quality as the GL1. If I choose the Elura 2MC I would not do it because of the difference in cost, bust simply because it is so small that it can stay it in my pocket all the time.
