Is there any way to defeat the GL1 auto-off feature? Can't Post

I have been using the GL1 to do some filming and whenever we break to setup a shot, it shuts off after 3 minutes. Drives me crazy! Then we have to wait for it to "reboot" itself and then i have to reset most of my settings (shutter, F stop, video level, etc.) Anyone have a hack or something to prevent this???

if in manual mode it should remember the settings ... you could take the tape out while you set up the next shot ( just remember to shoot a extra 3-5 sec after "cut" ) ...

Use the Standby/Lock lever at the end of the shot to put the camera to sleep between shots. It should remember your settings when you wake it by placing it back into standby.
The Canon ZR-1000 remote control suppoerts ths function.
No way to defeat the auto shut off. It is ther to protect the heads and tape from excessive wear on camcorders left in pause for long periods of time.
