Looking for single chipper for "cutaways" Can't Post

ShockedI am looking for an inexpensive, smallish camcorder for cutaways. I use an XM1/GL1 as my main cam. Is there a good low-light single chipper(or an inexpensive 3CCD'er).

I understand budgetary constraints, but if you plan on doing this professionally or in any volume, you should seriously consider just getting another GL2 off eBay or something.

You'll need another cam for a second shooter at some point and you'll be thankful that you put in the investment earlier.

but if you must, just get any sony handycam. They're all good for balcony shots. (Get one with a bigger thread on the lens. That is to say, a bigger lens. The more light the lens lets in, the better the image - nevermind zoom capabilities. it's unimportant.)

Cheers!

I've been thinking the same thing. I am now looking for an XM1 or XM2. In all respects it would be better to get a similar model.

I've had great luck on ebay with my GL1, GL2 and XL1s. I just got an Panasonic GS120 3chipper on ebay for 350.00. It matched up great with my canons. what is your budget? again Ebay. Good luck.

If you're looking at a single chip camera look for the largest chips possible.
Most comsumer camcorders have 1/6" The Canon Optura series are a little more expensive but they have larger chips, up to 1/3".

If you wanted to research the current camcorder models goto:
