No sound will transfer into my GL1 … ? Can't Post

No sound will transfer into my GL1 … ?

When I hook up my Cannon HI8 to the GL1 with either video or “S” cables, no sound will transfer from HI8 to MiniDV. It used to.

This used to be my way of getting HI8 into the computer. It was also going to be my way of transferring VHS tapes for DV storage.

I can not think of any settings that may have changed and have looked threw all the menus and manuals. I hope the GL1 does not have a problem.

Anyway, thanks for any tips/help.

Silly question, but did you remember to hook up the red and white (or red and black) audio cables? The video cables only carry the picture information.

They typically use a single triple wire + ground jack. Plus that would not explain why the “S” cable does not work either. Also the same cable type has proven to output sound into the monitor. Last, like I said, it was working.
