Playback Deck for xl1s Can't Post

Hi everyone. I'm trying to find a proper (and inexpensive) playback deck to get my minidv tapes out firewire to my G5 fcp system. I noticed a few under 1500$, but i didnt find any info on what works best with the xl1s. Im entering a period of heavy capturing and i dont want to burn out my xl1s. Any suggestions??

If all you have in mind is playback for capture, consider using a low cost camcorder; e.g., one from the Canon ZR series. MiniDV Playback decks, even the modest cost Sonys, tend to be higher priced than basic digital camcorders, and for digital transfer it should make no difference, other than perhaps speed of tape handling.
