Please help me set up Flowpod with GL2 Can't Post

I just bought a Flowpod to use with my Canon GL2. I am unable to get the darn thing set up with my camera. I have the balancing plate and clamp, and three weights. According to the instructions, I should hold the device (with camera attached) horizontal and let it swing down slowly. Well, even with no weights, it seems to swing down really fast and hard. It does keep the camera fairly steady, but there is too much of a "pendulum" action going on.

Is anyone else using the Flowpod with a GL2? If so, please let me know how many weights you are using, and where they are positioned. If you could include pictures, that would be great!

Re: [Ask4Fish] Please help me set up Flowpod with GL2 [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello Ask4Fish I just arrive from the Weva event and finally had the oportunity to talk with the varizoom people. I also have the GL2 and flowpod for about 5 months now and never got it balanced. The varizoom guy told me the exact way to balance it.

1- put the flowpod in the balancing plate and balance first the side part then the front and back part
2- assuming that you finish , put a weight. He told me that for GL2 with no aditional lenses, long batery , no lights you should put just 1 weight.
3- Take it out from the balancing plate, now stand up straight hold the flowpod in horizontal position. With one hand hold the handle with the other hold the end of the flow pod.
4- Let it swing and here is the tricky part. It should take just 2 sec to get from the horizontal position to the vertical. If it took less than 2 sec then you have to take out some weights, if it doesnt move at all or took to long to get into the vertical position you should put more weights.
5- I ask him if the weight should be all the way at the top of the flowpod and He told me that you should put it at the bottom but not all the way , leave like 2 or 3 inches.
6- Finally when you will be using it dont hold the handle from the flowpod in a straight horizontal position because it will tired you faster and will not produce the stabilization. Instead hold it a little vertical and little horizontal. I really dont know how exactly how to explain it. Hope this helps.

I havent try it yet since I got home yesterday at night. Fell free to PM me if you want or let me know if it works. Seems that we can help each other.
