The most likely answer is that there is interference with the church sound system.

Is it the same church that is giving you these problems or is it any church? When you test it "at the church" do you test it with the house system powered up? Make sure you test it with the house system already on and all wireless transmitters on as well.

You might simply try changing the frequency of your wireless gear to another channel.

Good luck.

Re: [malexvideo] Problems with wireles mic system in church [In reply to] Can't Post

A couple of thoughts:

Many low-cost wireless systems utilize the VHF (very high fequency) band that is also in use by walkie-talkies, radio stations, and other low-cost wireless systems. If you use one of these VHF systems, you need to test at a time when the other potential interference is likely to occur, especially potential nearby systems like the church sound system.

Most of the better wireless systems use the UHF (ultra high frequency) band that is used largely by UHF TV but is virtually never completely covered since most locales don't have that many UHF stations. UHF wireless systems also tend to feature a wider variety of frequencies that can be easily adjusted.

A good question to ask the church staff is whether they use a wireless system, its type and which frequencies they occupy. Your area will have several uncommitted TV channels that can handle multiple wireless broadcasts. The trick is to know which channels are unused in your area and get purchase your wireless with bands compatible with your area. Some manufacturers (like Sennheiser) provide frequency charts by metropolitan area that can serve as a guide for this.

What \'s going on? What was going on was RF interference. What will be going on is you'll be asking questions and tuning your way out of the problem...

Good luck.

When between transmitter and receiver there is a large crowd, signal goes bad.

Check it out

I've started "double mic-ing" my grooms now with an I-River....just to be on the safe side.
