SLAP THE NOOB. XL1 lens on SLR? Can't Post

okay. it's SLAP THE NOOB time. i tried to search the FORUMS but can't find an answer. so here goes:

i'm getting a (new to me) XL1. i understand that you can get an optional EF adapter that will allow you to use any of CANON's lens' on the XL1. is there a similiar adapter that will allow you to use the XL1's 16x and 3x lens on a CANON SLR digital camera body?

thanks in advance

No, the XL series lenses are specifically designed to cover the image of the CCD chip inside the XL cameras. A 35mm lens is designed to cover the area of a 35mm negative, which is much, much bigger.
Conversely, the Canon 35mm lenses (and be sure to note specifically which Canon 35mm lenses ) only have a relatively small portion of their light gathering capability actually falling on the XL's CCD chip. This is not a disadvantage, only a matter of physics.
