TAPE STUCK IN GL1!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't Post

When i hit eject, it goes through the mechanical process and the tape pops out like it should. But the tape itself is stuck in the deck. i can pull it out about a half an inch but then it snags. i cant find a place to work on the camera for less than a huge fee just to look at it. has anyone had this problem? Can i fix it myself? anything i should consider before trying to open it up myself?

thanks for all your help!

I would pay the fee and let them remove it. That would be better than paying a larger fee after I attempted to remove it and broke something. While they have it, they should do a full servicing as well. But that's just me.

Your tape might be damaged, but you can likely remove your cassette by simultaneously pressing the white inset button on the bottom side of the tape (the side with the toothed wheels to spin the tape reels) and pulling the case out. Your tape will be pulled out of the tape housing and then you can carefully remove the tape.

This is just a guess. I am not an expert camera technician. Please only attempt this at your own risk!

Good luck!
Cheers!
