I use both TDK and Fuji brands with no problem. I hear that the Sony's has special coating that could effect your camera's head. Never used the Panavision tape so I cannot comment on it.
In any case, which ever brand you choose, stick to that brand.

I use Panasonic tapes and have never had any problems- they are simply rock
solid. Fuji tapes are good as well. Stay away from TDK- the tape is flimsy and
is prone to artifacting.
As for the rumor about Sony tapes, it is very, very true. Those tapes are meant
ONLY for Sony decks and cameras. The extra lubrication gums up the heads. I
shot a documentary on Sony tapes before hearing about that and ended up
paying $600 to get my heads fixed.
