XL-1/Videography Workshop? Can't Post

Hello:

I work at a university and produce promotional pieces on a regular basis that have recently begun to incorporate more talking heads. However, my experience in the areas of audio and lighting, in particular, is limited, and I inevitably wind up with results that I know could be improved upon. I have been authorized to search out a weekend or 1-2 week long workshop that deals with the essentials of videography. Can anyone suggest or recommend such a thing, either in Canada or the U.S.?

Here's a link to one I found on Basic Video Camera and Technology. Please feel free to comment on its worthiness if you know anything about it.

I'd also appreciate it if folks could refer me to web sites that deal with the basics of videography.

Thanks much,

-john.
