XL1S Picture Light/Dim Flickering Problem (Aerial Video) Can't Post

I have just begun shooting with my newly aquired XL1S. I shoot aerial video from a helicopter at low altitude, usually about 700 feet agl. Today was a bright sunny day and we had some railways to shoot. We use the XL1S with an external Kenlab KS-4 Gyrostabilizer set to lateral. We shot today in the Green Box Automatic mode with the ND filter Off with a UV filter installed. Most of the video came out Great, however periodically in the playback video it appeared that the camera was almost flickering between bright and not bright at almost the same rate as the rotor blades moved. All of the shots were downward so unless the light was hitting the blades and the camera was somehow detecting the difference in brightness and attempting to adjust, I don;t know. It did not seem to mater which direction looking towards the light or away and it only happened periodically, not at all consistantly. It almost seems the camera is attempting to compensate for something. I am open to any ideas. Guidance or direction to camera settings that might limit this in the future, or is there a defect? Previously I did shoot an auto accident for a local T.V. station with lower light, near evening without a flaw. Thanks in advance. Jim

Try NOT using auto exposure, especially green box.In green box the camera takes overeg. even if you have auto focus off green box turns it on.I suggest never using green box, it is much easier in post to correct a slight exposure error than to try to fix constantly changing exposure.Try using full manual ,once you nail down the settings you may find you will be happier.

This is a wild guess. Check the resulting shutter speed in the data code. There might have been a beat with the rotor blade speed causing the visual effect.
