XL1 and Premiere 6.0 Can't Post

I seem to be having a problem with importing footage from my XL1 to Premiere. I'm not sure what the problem is, yet friends are telling me that there is a compatability issue with Canon and Premiere. I was told to possibly download a driver. Anyone have any answer? Thanks a lot.

What kind of problem? Not everything is solved by codecs. If you are getting discontinuous time codes, set your disk to DMA enabled.

Thanks Nathan,
The problem doesn't seem to be discontinuous time codes. Instead, I can capture the footage, it's just that I can never open or play the footage. I don't know what's going on. Thanks

I usualy use Sony DHR 1000 deck for capturing but I've just tried to capture directly from XL1. There was no problems at all. All captured material played ok within Premiere 6. What capture card are u using? I am using Canopus Raptor.

I use the canon XL1 and edit with Premiere I don't have any problems with capturing footage, but i do use firewire from the camera to the cumputer and have no problems. Also in Premiere ^ make sure u pick DV on the menu.
Good luck

I use an xl1 and premire and I agree that there is an issue.
the problem I am having is with footage that I have recorded in widescreen on the xl1. whenever I try to render some effects (for example, cinelook or twixtor deinterlacer) I get some really wierd interlacing artifacts on moving objects. the footage renders properly in after effcts, but not in premiere. Ive tried using regular xl1 footage and it works fine. Ive used widescreen footage from other cameras and it works fine in premiere as well. If any one has any suggestions please let me know.
