XL1 vs. GL2 Can't Post

im new with canon cameras but i have a quick question. I heard that the xl1 has a special feature that allows the minidv to look more like film quality...if so how good is that quality, is it worth it and how does it compare to the GL2? Can i use the GL2 and accompish the same as if i was using a XL1? any information on this subject would be great...thanks

Re: [graff44] XL1 vs. GL2 [In reply to] Can't Post

The GL2 and XL1 both have an excellent "frame mode" that makes video look more 'film like." They also both have a good 16:9 mode. The new XL2 shoots 24fps progressive scan video (film is 24fps and is progressive scanned when converted to video) and the XL2 has a new set of options for adjusting the picture to make it more film like.

The XL2 is quite different than the XL1 and GL2, but I would say that in many ways the XL1 and GL2 have similar capabilities.
