XL1s How often do you get drop outs/Glitches Can't Post

Just wondering How often people get drop outs/Glitches on their XL1s
We have them pretty often. On average we have at least three bad ones an hour with a few little audio ones in one or both channels. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But compaired to our Sony TRV950e which might get one a wedding or 1 every two/three hours. Our latest wedding we had about 5 bad ones for the Canon in the ceremony where we could not cut around two of them.

Sometimes on the XL1s we get long ones in the audio. Its hard to describe it it goes something like "psick psick psick psick psick" for 5 minutes or so or untill it hits a pause break. These ones seem to be on playback only and our sony plays these tapes back ok.

Overall i am so sick of the frequiency of them from the canon.

The last time I had dropouts was over a year ago.I was getting them often at that time.I had used Sony ,Maxell tape.I sent the unit in to Canon ,they replaced the recorder and I since have used Panasonic exclusively.I think a head clean and alignment might have fixed it but it was under warranty and they replaced it free.Worked for me.

Actually we had it extreamly bad when we first bought the camera. We did a corporate shoot and had to reshoot a whole day and get actors back in. That cost us!

Canon had our camera for about a month and a bit and replaced the main board, Now we are at our current glitch average. We use JVC tapes exclusively as canon recommended.

How long ago was that done? Were the heads serviced/aligned at that time or since? When you capture do get any dropped frames? What kind of glitch is it?(blocky,pixellated,over/underexposure)
Sorry about all questions, just trying to picture the problem.

no it hasn't been adjusted since. no dropped frames on capture. ummmm its kind of a blocky jump cut or quick freeze frame for the bad ones. most commonly its a few small amount of pixelation with a spit it the audio.

If your seeing the glitch in the viewfinder, it is the camera causing this.Since from the post above your sending it in for service ,hopefully they fix this.
