What is the diffrence between the ma-300(canon XLR converter) and beachtek? Which is better? (this is for a GL2)

Well, the beachtek device has level controls built in. I'm not positive but I don't think the MA300 has anything like that.
However, the Beachtek mounts under the camera so your microphone cable will need to crawl down to the bottom as opposed to unobtrusively plug straight into the MA300.

Plus, the Beachtek does have a mic HOLDER like the MA300 is designed to do.

Plusses and minuses for both!
Good luck!

(I actually just use an Azden shotgun mic with a mini plug on it so I don't need an adapter for my GL2.)
Cheers!

The Canon XLR converter designed for the GL-2 slides into the inteli-shoe on the camera. It's nice and neat. There are no extra cables to plug to get your audio into the camera. Just plug in your mics and you're ready to go.

The Beachtek, however, must plug into the camera's mic port on the side.
Using the Beachtek makes the camera a bigger handful for hand-held shots.
For me, it feels alittle more stable but you have to watch out for mic cables getting caught on something.

On the other hand, The MA-300 is nice because its powered by the camera.
One less cable and one less battery to worry about.

Beachtek is also 'powered' by the camer - no battery required

One big advantage to MA-300 is that you can plug an external microphone to the MA-300.
