cannon XL1 issus	Can't Post

Since I returned home from a show in Wisconsin, I now have a red flashing light in the center of the viewfinder which looks like a mini usb connector. I presumed (incorrectly) that it was the internal battery so I replaced it with no luck.
Since I have misplaced the manual, I was hoping someone else has eperienced this and coul help. The camera seems to shoot and record fine, it just concerns me since it was not there before. It's there in Auto, Manual or all other recording options!

there are a few possibilities you could check
if the camera remembers the time and date it is NOT the backup battery
is white balance on a manual setting?
is the remote sensor turned off in the menu?( the remote control wont work)

Likey causes of a flashing light in the center of the screen are: backup battery, no cassette inserted, battery exhausted, and possibley condensation warning (whihc may give other messages as well). What you describe sounds like the backup battery warning. Double check that the battery is installd properly and is good.
