Place the XL1 in the "Green Box" mode.
Press and Hold the two shutter speed buttons for about 3 seconds.
Same process to turn them off.
Be aware that they are not standard color bars, the levels and color maybe a bit different.

Other post is correct but understand that they are SMPTE color bars.
