edit to tape FCP Can't Post

I cant seem to use the edit to tape or Mastering functions on Final Cut Pro 1.2 with my Canon XM-1 (GL-1 PAL version) The assemble/preview/insert buttons are grayed out.
Is the canon not capable of doing these things? It can do bulk capture with device control with no problems.
I am using firewire basic with the DV tuner and CMP override plugins as suggested in the manual.

Re: edit to tape FCP Can't Post

Hi Peter
Sure the Canon can do this what computer are you using ? if it is a G4 it should work perfectly as with a G3, all you do is make sure the firewire is connected well and make sure you close the log & capture window set your GL1 to VCR mode select print to tape in FCP it will promt you to press REC on your camera when done so click ok/continue if this does not work then check your settings if still no luck post again and I will try to help more Paul...

Re: edit to tape FCP [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks Paul. The print to video function works fine. Its the edit to tape and mastering functions that I cant seem to get working. Id like to insert a programme between two specific timecode points on a tape.
Im using a G4 with Promax card and 37 gig UATA drive
