I have only had that problem once and that turned out to be with a defective tape. Contact Canon video consumer support by telephone (their phone number is listed at Canon usa website. See if in conversation you can determine if the problem is with the camera or the tapes. Then send it only to Canon for repair. There are simply too many fragile to trust repair to anyone else. By the way, only use one brand of mini dv tape in your camera. Every tape manufacturer use a different coating on their tapes. These coatings will always leave a minute residue on the tape heads. the mixing of residues from different tape brands can cause tape jams and possibly additinal damage. : i have a gl1 and i have a problem loading in the tape.... when i put the tape in it dosent seem to accept the tape and says remove casseette in the lcd. it also is doing a strange crazy winding noise. Help if any one knows what the problem is and if they could recommend a place to get it fixed for cheap in the LA so. california area... : -andrew : thanks.
