gl2 camera light question Can't Post

I Just bought a VL-10Li on camera light for my gl2 from B&H. Does anyone know if the bp-915 battery that came witht he gl2 will work on this light? The online instructions say that it takes a bp-914, and I have found many sites that say the 914 is the same as the 915.

Thanks

Yeah, the batteries for the Gl series are interchangeable with the VL-10. I work with a guy who puts one of those honking Bp-945 batteries on the VL-10 and he's good for the night. Wink

Just shot a bridal show Sunday and the lighting was sub-standard. Popped in my ole BP945 'clone' into the VL10 and we lit up the place.

I bought the clone from a web house for something like $50.00 .. I think Canon charges something like $90.

THanks for the posts guys. Someone PM'd me a week or two ago, I ordered the light form B&H for around $70 and have already used it in a wedding. It does work great, but I put a diffuser on it because for just 10 watts, it was still blinding. Cool

Hey there,
Just curious about your diffuser. I'm in the same boat as yourself in that I just got a VL-10i for my GL2 (upgraded from the VL-3) and I'm going to use a clone BP-945. It's way too bright so as I said, I'm curious to know where you got your diffuser or what you use for it.
Thanks.
Sean.

There is a theater store where I live that sells the film for less than $5. I just cut it to size and taped it in with electrical tape. I'm not sure of where to recomend for a universal place. You could probably use some of that hand-made paper you buy at art stores. My wife makes lamp shades out of that stuff and the light looks really nice through it.
