iMovies Can't Post

Going from my GL1 to my G4 Mac. When I plug in a mic to the G4,
it doesn't seem to work. Are there any tricks to this? I'm using a standard mic we use in a band.

The mic for iMacs at least is the Plain Talk. The plug is a little longer than usual microphones. Somebody somewhere sells adapters.
