problems with audio 2 and xl1 Can't Post

Hello everybody,
does anybody know, if it is possible to capture the audio tracks 3+4 (Audio2) with Final Cut Pro (firewire + imac)? Canon says, that the camera and firewire are supporting the output of the channels, but there is no software to capture it. is this right?
Thanx for your help.

Apple says yes. They say you select this under audio settings.
Do not ask me how, I'm using EditDV (soon to be CineStream).

With FCP you CAN capture channels 3 and 4. To do this, go into Log and Capture>Preferences>Capture>Audio, and change the default setting from Sample to Source. Then change the Input to either the first 2 channels, the second 2 channels, or a mix of all 4 channels. I don't know why, but sometimes when I first open Log and Capture and try to make these changes, FCP will not give me these input options until after I have loged a clip. So I log 1 clip, make the changes, and then trash the first clip if needed.
Hope this helps.

To get the option of selecting channels 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 you'll need to have the camera in play pause mode. If the camera is stopped then FCP won't give you the option.
Also, if anybody can help me with this...While I AM able to choose channel 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 I am not able to get a mix of all 4. I am given the dropdown menu option when setting my sound prefs but on capture all I get are channels 1 & 2...no 3 & 4 despite my "Mixdown 4" setting in FCP.

: Hope this helps.
