Anyone got any subtitling tips? Can't Post

I have to subtitle a film for overseas viewers, in two languages.
Any tips for doing it any other way than splitting into phrase- long shots, and titling each separately? What is best text to use, Best font size?
The dreaded PC systems seem to easily drag and drop text from Word.
