> I read about the model number on the > Internet and it says all new RCA DVD > Players will only play the +R's and > not the -R's. This is terrible! Not only is it stupid, but if RCA continues this practice with its DVD players, it will be the death of their product line. There's no reason it can't play both, unless they specifically engineer it to read the DVD's manufacturing data and specifically tell it NOT to play the DVD-R. I would tell the client to return their DVD player as defective. The vast majority of DVD writers are DVD-R and all the duplication towers burn DVD-R, NOT DVD+R. Yours is not the only one that the client will have trouble with. : Is it the Pioneer Burner itself or the Arabesk software that is keeping it from burning +R's? Also, what product do I need if I want to burn DVD+R's as well? DVD+R is a different format than the industry at large has agreed upon using. You would need to buy a specific recorder to record DVD+R disks. The software shouldn't care. Arabesk cannot, at this time, take advantage of the 4x burning speed of the newer DVD-R recorders. Methinks that the Casablanca 2 line of processors and the data bus they created is just too slow to handle anything but 1x writing, but eventually, either it will, or you'll want to use a PC to do this stuff.
