Casablanca 060 Questions and Wanted

I'm still searching for a previously owned Casablanca 060 to purchase. I've gotten close a couple of times and I had some questions about purchasing an "older" Casablanca 060 (say more than a year old)...
Have there been any hardware enhancements (i.e. improved capture quality, speed, etc.) or hardware features that have been added to the base Casablanca 060 unit within the last year that would make me want to focus on a newer versus and an older unit?
Are there any big enhancements for the Cassie hardware planned in the near future that I should hold off for and buy a new unit (i.e. I heard something about a near real-time DSP based rendering model)?
The older units are often out of the original warranty. How big a concern is this? It seems these are very reliable devices.
Does any of the newer software (i.e. Version 3, effects, Spice Rack, Akaba, PC-Link, etc.) require a certain level of the Casablanca hardware? (Would buying a year old Cassie prevent me from using any of these?)
Are there any restrictions on adding the DV/Firewire option to an older Cassie 060?
I guess I'm just asking, "Am I missing anything if I buy a July 1997 Cassie as opposed to as July 1998 Cassie?"
