Casablanca Avio to standalone DVD recorder Can't Post

Hi,
Is it possible to connect a Casablanca Avio to a standalone DVD
recorder via the firewire? Or is there other options of doing
this. At present we are importing VHS to casablanca then
recording back to VHS. Instead of recording back to VHS we want
to be able to burn the finished item to DVD. The cheapest option
I suspect would be a standalone DVD recorder.

It's interesting that there are such vastly differing experiences. Probably having more to do with the media than the player. I've got a +R unit gathering dust because I can only play back discs on itself. Other stock DVD players, computers, and duplication towers won't recognize the discs! Interesting, ain't it? In addition, none of the DVD+R discs that have been brought to me for duplication have been readable in either the stock DVD players, computer drives, or duplication towers.
I will say that while the discs burned on the Panasonic are easily read in both computers and duplicators, the COPIES of those discs play back better in regular DVD players. That may be what yayaya-beaver is referring to. It's really not a problem for me, because I always keep the original master in the studio for future duplications anyway, and only ever give clients the copies.
