The Cassie seems to be the same platform as the famous Amiga. I saw the demo and found out they used D1 quality cameras and decks to do this. The folks that think the titles are cheezy should think about outputting through a CG unit then to the recorder for master. I would have full use of my Inscriber CG that runs on the FAST Video Machine. I could take the SVHS out of the Cassie and send it through the FAST. The unit is a bit pricey concidering all the rendering time involved. I can't get used to the idea that I have to create the story board first, line it all up on the interface then hit record and go to lunch. That doesn't happen here. I produce 30 minute infomercials and I can tape it, edit it and have it ready to air inside of 4 hours and that's a location shoot. I called Cassie about the technical quality. They said " If you put SVHS in then you will see little signal loss on the way out". Well I'll be, that's what I have right now and I'm all analog. QUESTION? Why do we want to go non-linear? Long render times and similiar quality output to what I have. My effects are real time, my CG renders real time and I can do all this while the recorder is rolling. I think I'll stick with analog until someone comes up with MPEG 2 real time everything for less than $10,000. My two cents, Happy Hunting Mike B.
