Do I really need a proc-amp? If so - which one? Can't Post

I have been having problems with my whites being to hot, and I was told that if I ran the video through a proc-amp before I send it into my Cassie that I can cure the problem.
If this is the solution to the problem, then what proc-amp is the best one out there?
Thanks in advance
