VOB to MPEG	Can't Post

Newbie here.
Chron lets me output a VOB file but how can I output an MPEG file? PC conversion software blows. Any advice?

Funny, I tried movie factory and I couldnt seem to save as an mpeg. I then downloaded the video editor by ulead and it wont even play a video file created in the movie factory...any other advice??

USE cladDVD TO RIP DVD TO YOUR HARDDRIVE AND THEN DOWNLOAD MPEG MEDIATOR TO CONVERT THE FILES TO MPEG1, 2 OR XVID. TAKES ABOUT 2 HOURS TO COMPLETE AND THE OUTCOME IS OUT OF SIGHT.

Strangely, there's nothing out there that makes this easy. You'll have to demux the VOB, probably re-encode the audio, then remux into an mpeg. try www.dvdrhelp.com for freeware tools and tips.

try changing the file extention from vob to mpg

use dvdtoolbox to extract a movie from disk to your hardrive it will come out as a powerdvd VOB file.
then use mediator to convert it to avi, then put it to disk.

Let me amend that answer ...
A "VOB" file is already an MPEG2 file ... just change the extension from ".vob" to ".mpg" and it will play fine in Windows Media Player.
