avio to dvd Can't Post

Need help. When I copy from avio to DVD with firewire, picture is great, but I lose all transitions. If I use SVHS to vcr everything is fine, if I use
SVHS to DVD transitions are there, but picture quality is questionable.
I unplugged all wires in and out except firewire, same results. Asked
tech support three times, they answered the first time, but not heard
from in a almost a week. I have a wedding waiting...any help?

Re: [dwayne] avio to dvd [In reply to] Can't Post

when i render on my avio from dv firewire to analog each side has to be rendered

what im saying is if you render the video and audio on the analog side the dv firewire side needs to be rendered also
cant render in analog then switch to dv output firewire

im sure thats your problem

dv rendering always takes longer also I made the same mistake when i first used the firewire i had no transitions then i noticed the create light was light after i put it on dv and the analog side light was out

hope this helps

Re: [betamax] avio to dvd [In reply to] Can't Post

now that i re-read your question I also noticed that avio compressed video does not like some dvd players
I guess its the digital compression,
I notice pixelization and digital artifacts when i copy to dvd

If i use firewire it doesnt do it as much but still there

i do notice a degrade in the picture, if i go from avio to dvd then just dv to dvd
but since i need to edit i live with it
I guess we are the only ones that notice it because i mentioned it before and everyone acted like it was just me
owell

one last thing are you using dvd-r or +r

Re: [betamax] avio to dvd [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks. I'll check it out. I have used -R and +R with same results. The
dvd's picture quality is okay at first, but if you pause or try to ff, the
colors become unstable, green, red, etc. I tried new SVHS cables and
it helped somewhat, but had new complaints. Although I have read how
the avio is outdated, I have a friend who has a G4 or maybe G5 (newest
Apple) and it takes him way more rendering time than me. Although he
has a few more bells on his, I find that I am very competitive and the
editing equipment is only a small part of the production. Thanks and if
you have had any more problems let me know....I'm sure I have
experienced them at some point.
