Your hard drive may be bad. Can you hear your hard drive spinning. Upon startup your should be able to hear your harddrive engage and begin to spin. When you put the smart media card in is there a flashing media card icon with a X in the center. This may be an indication that your system motherboard is having a problem communicating with the harddrive. I had a bad logic board on my hard drive and it was preventing the drive from signaling the vital information to the motherboard to make it operatable.
: I purchased a casablanca avio with a 40 gb hdd sometime around august. the major problem I have experienced so far with the unit is its constant inability to boot. i put it on, it displays 65538 at the uppermost right corner of the monitor and it stays that way. It wont even accept the smart card. This has been its state for the past one week. please help
