second owner support from the dealers and Draco Can't Post

Hi, I'm looking at purchasing a 060 Cassie from a company that has bought a bigger system. The price seems right (060, a 4 gig and a 9 gig HD, but no monument or firewire, for $3,000), but I would like to know how Draco and the dealer network is about providing service, tech support, and upgrades to those of us who didn't buy the equipment new (I have heard nothing but great first-hand experiences from new equipment purchasers). I saw the machine demo'd at the CMS show in Nashville this year, and upon seeing it used in person, I became convienced that the vast majority of most people's concerns about the limitations of the machine were or are soon to be addressed. My video business is going to be a limited budget start-up, and therefore I can't swing the machine new, but this deal will allow me to have editing capacity more than adequate for the work I intend to pursue, and should have plenty of room to grow. But if there are problems in getting upgrades or service for a used unit, then I need to know now. Thank you all for any first-hand feedback you can offer me.

Jay you should call Draco direct and talk to Stephanie or David. On another casablanca list, Draco posted their explanation of their warranty as it applies to original owners. In part what David said was that technical support would remain essentially the same "free" (for a while) but they would give extended parts & service warranties for the machines to orginal owners. No mention was made about resale to third parties.

Terry,
Thank you for the info about Stehpanie and David. I'll try to get in touch with them and find out first hand. Better to ask the source.
