100%. Not because they all need it but because it is a way of lifting my work out of the crowd and giving it an individual brand.

About 95% Some of them are candids that are just that candids and I don't want to alter, kids playing patty cake or something. Formals they ALL get retouched and also the preceremony and ceremony ALL get touched up. There is always a zit to take away and exit sign in the background, or an ANNOYING VIDEOGRAPHER in the way, you know how those guys areTongue. Sometimes it is just as simple as cropping the photo to take away some of the background.

I shoot in raw and color correct, adjust exposure and contrast if needed. I do this to all images that are going to be received. If I'm going to enlarge them or if they are going to be included in an album then I'll spend more time with them adding actions if needed for effects.

Re: [Sparky] What portion of your digital pics do you alter? [In reply to] Can't Post

I also shoot in raw - I change all to jpg - CS2 does this for you which is cool - but damn is it slow overall - oh, but I digress....If we are talking proofing I will touch up a little before letting them see it. I explain that these are "raw" and not touched up, I also will really hook up like 12 images that I love so they can see what can be done. For prints, every single one gets touched by me in some way. I think every photo can benefit from a little hook up and it should be as nice as possible when they get it. THis is really important IMO with online proofing and ordering. Because they are low resolution images online - I want them to be blown away when they get their prints in the mail...

Either side, you can spend far too much time getting it perfect when ok will do. A sale is a sale. The extra work is to attract a bigger sale. The big difference at the moment is the amount of extra mony you get for time spent on photos compared to video.

I find I usually will do in this order, density, contrast, color balance especially in mixed light.
Contrast seems to do the most for me.
Canon 20D.

100% brack!

For me very image needs cropped to a certain extent. I've also noticed very few images that don't need a slight level tweek. Plus I always hit most of my journalistic shots with a blast of USM since focus isn't always spot on like a portrait. Cool

I provide 8 individual music videos Brack! Each one chronicles a different portion of the day. Pre-ceremony, Ceremony, Formals, Disco, Dances, and a highlight of the day. My clients love the short stylized get to the point videos. Of course I do provide them with 3.5 hours of raw footage so they can see everything if they want. Never had a complaint that it was too short. Of course they could always pick a longer song if they want.

Yes I do offer combo packages. I'm getting 3,300.00 for the combo which is cheap. 300.00 goes to my shooter. I find post image work to be way less stressful than video.

I'm seeing a lot of photography questions from someone who is a video person here.

C'mon Brack, go out and buy yourself a few Mark 1D's. You know you want to. Cool

You do it first, then I'll follow. I promise.

Yes. Still doing video too, but figuring out how to bring on more people to cover both. It seems like a wise choice seeing how I already spend $$$$ marketing that crowd.
