No, nowhere is safe. The general public has been brainwashed into accepting lower quality. Brides are being told by the magazines and places like "The Knot" that they waaaant a photojournalistic style of photography, that they neeeed a wedding coordinator.............for whats thats worth. People want it yesterday and they want it for FREE. Ask a bride to define the photojournalistic style and they look at you like deer in the headlights. THEY don't even know. They just repeat that mantra like leamings to the sea. They wouldn't recognize quality if it bit them in the face. Case in point which I am still smarting a bit from. My neighbor approaches me during the spring to photograph her daughters sweet 16 party in Sept. It happens to fall on my birthday. She checks out a CD I shot last winter of an identical event which had 1 picture I posted here not too long ago, no feed back. We arrive at a price and I say "sure". Catch flack from wife. But I digress. Make em sign a contract with a non-refundable deposit? nah, it's my neighbor.........The pin has been pulled at this point. Yesterday she calls me over and tells me a family member will do it as a "gift". Read "For Free". Guess he studied my cd first. Hmmmm, think I'll ask for the cd back or 25$ whichever comes first. So there's Mr Bill's morning rant, scarcasm and wit. Hope we have a hurricane that day... Have a nice day and don't let the door hit you on the way out. WLR Friends don't let friends shoot jpeg.
