Re: [Brackish] Cool camera flash bracket I ran across [In reply to] Can't Post

I use the custom brackets QRS-35-H
It works really well. Makes the 20D with Grip and a 28-70 F2.8 lens a HEAVY combination. After shooting with it all day Saturday, my arms were awfully sore on Sunday.

Here's a pic of mine I took when I first got it (Don't mind the messy office :) )

I'd fully recommend it. It is expensive though. You have to order all the part seperate (bracket, flash mount, camera mount, tripod mount), it added up to about $400 canadian.
Nobody has any question that you are the pro with this setup.

Not too many uncle charlies, but almost EVERYBODY has a camera of some sort at a wedding.

Re: [Brackish] Cool camera flash bracket I ran across [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm staying away from brackets. I want to keep things light (weight wise) and the less equipment the better.

So far I've been using the Stofen and been pretty pleased. However earlier today I decided to order this ... http://www.joedembphotography.com/flipit/

I have a feeling it's going to be a fairly decent investment.

The way Red-Eye occurs... The further away the flash is from the len, the less likely you are to get red-eyes. But the further away the subject is... it still doesn't eliminate it. Plus you can quickly rotate your camera(portrait to landscape) and not have to mess with the flash... it is still pointed at your subject (or ceiling for bounce flash).

Look toward the Son, and you will not see the shadows

That's a pretty neat little device!

I don't shoot weddings, and rarely attach my flash. I hate brackets. They look so awkward and silly. If I were doing weddings, I'd almost be tempted to just use an omnibounce on my flash, and not bother with a big goofy lookin' bracket at all, even if my pictures didn't look as good. Sly I guess I'll have to get some experience whenever I buy a better digital camera.

Here's the big goofy monster Thyristor relic on my POS 35mm....
