Re: [Brackish] To tap or not to tap: That is the question [In reply to] Can't Post

I would never do that! I simply walk around the dance floor and try and get the best angles, sometimes people will see you and strike a pose for you.
I do not like to be very intrusive in general. I am do mainly photojournalistic coverage at the receptions. Need to get me a 70-200 F2.8 IS, so I can really stand back and get the action.

Oh ... please, please, please, don't. First of all it really screws up the videographer. Tongue

But more than anything it completely destroys the MOOD of the dance. There are so many intimate moments during the dance with their foreheads touching, kissing, stoking the hair, laughing, tears ... all making wonderful individual print and album material.

Heck ... I don't have them even pose for the cutting of the cake. If they want help or directions I'll give it to them ... but I want the same spontanuity (?) that I love so much when shooting video.

I do one "tap" a few seconds after the begining of the dance, and then get out.
All other shots are candids, and I stay far enough away not to intrude on their "space",
but close enough not to have others roaming in front of me. Camera is always up and ready, both eyes open being aware of my surroundings and always mindfull of where the videographer is because they're shooting the whole thing while I'm just sniping a 60th of a second at a time. Most of the time only about 4 to 6 images are shot. I'm a sniper. One shot, one ...............oh never mind.

My word to tappers........ This is the moment the B&G have waited a lifetime for.

Leave them ALONE !!!
You are being a pest, a nudge, an INTRUDER.
Get your shot and GET OUT.

Friends don't let friends shoot jpeg.

No tap...

I think most B&Gs seem to instinctively pose at the start of the dance for a few shots (whenever they first see me there and remember what I'm there to do) --so I really don't need to ask.
