Re: [Brackish] New DSLR from Fuji in February [In reply to] Can't Post

My best friend shoots with a D200, and yes it is a much better built body than the 30D. And the ergonomics are much better as well. HOWEVER, I don't like the files it produces. He has done some second shooting for me, so I have had to deal with the files it produces. More noise at moderate to high ISO settings, and overall a more harsh looking picture.
The S5 appeals to me, from what I read it will have the ergonomics and hopefully speed of the D200, but Fuji files, which are supposed to be pretty nice. The S3 produced great images, but I've read that it is DOG slow in almost every aspect.

My understanding is that the cam is supposed to be a
Fuji S3 with a Nikon D200 body. I have heard that the
D200 is very well laid out ergonomically, and I think it
is solid metal. Basically, the D200 is supposed to be
a better body than the Canon 30D, which is why
I was disappointed that there wasn't one on
display when I went looking at cameras recently.

That is what sold me on the D200. Ergonomics and build quality.

Depending on the price and the reviews, I'd consider it. I have always loved Nikon ergonomics and handling, but not really liked the files they produce. If the Fuji has good performance and clean high ISO, I'd be really tempted.

Anyone know what is meant here by "30 second live preview" on the LCD?

My guess is that it is like the P&S models that you can view the shot in the screen not just the viewfinder. The Olympus e-volt series had that feature also or at least similar....
