I find that interesting. They seem to ignore the resolution of the 35mm film format. By stating that they can scan a negative or slide at 40mb does NOT imply that they have more information than an 10mb image. It may just mean that they are repeating data more due to original dot size. Remember, the information on film is STILL limited to the film that it is captured on. That is why medium format (larger film plate) makes a larger blow-up. Not that medium format film is better, it just has a bigger capture surface - more spots to record. Then they state that you should back your digital images up on film so that it will be better suited for printing when 11mpixels is "not enough" anymore, thus implying that backing up your 6mp image on film will allow you to print it at 20mp later? Even though this article was printed 2 years ago, it still shows more film-bias than actual technological facts about printing, imaging, and film. -Postal
