Re: [Brackish] Think Tank Modulus Belt? [In reply to] Can't Post

Most of my photo/video bags/cases are Lowepro, and they also have a SlipLok system similar to that. Not sure which is better, or cheaper. Lowepro stuff can be kind of expensive. http://www.lowepro.com/Products/ I've got a SlipLok bottle holder, but I usually just attach it to the side of the camera bag...I don't hang it off my belt or anything. Tongue

For just wedding work, I couldn't imagine needing to carry around a half dozen lenses and a ton of gear. I can't even remember the last time I saw a wedding photog shooting with a prime....seems all you'd need is a couple of zoom lenses, and an extra body. Then just a camera bag to carry it all, a tripod bag, and maybe a small utility bag to carry extra batteries, memory cards, Skittles, business cards, vodka, etc.

I only shot one event using 35mm/primes, and didn't really need more than 2-3 lenses...changing them was a PITA, and it would have been easier to simply have carried a second body. Carrying 5-6 lenses would have been overkill IMHO.

You could always get the Lowepro Sliplok commando vest...

As nerdy as that thing is, it sure would be handy sometimes.

I like the belt idea though, I had looked at one of those myself. But I think I'd ony use about 2 holders for the lenses.
For the most part, I'd like to have two cameras on me with different lenses. You know, because I'm used to carrying way too much crap around after doing video for all these years. I couldn't possibly go out with just a camera around my neck. It would feel like showing up somewhere in my underpants
(and no one wants to see that!)

Re: [Shadow] Think Tank Modulus Belt? [In reply to] Can't Post

I had the lowepro getup two years ago, I used it for a couple of weddings and sold it.
It was convenient to have all my gear on me, but the "rambo" and "batman" comments got a bit much, plus I was hard maneuvering through tight places with those cases hanging off you. And the straps would need adjusting all day long.
Maybe it would be useful hiking through the woods, but not for wedding photography, IMHO.
