Well I don't think you have to offer it, but I personally like to do them because it gives me a chance to work with the couple before the actual wedding date. I get to see how they act in front of the camera, and they get to see how I work as a photographer.
I list it on my price list as "Complimentary Engagement Session", just so I don't get the question, how much $$ do we save if we remove that option.
