Looks like there will be no update on the 30D, which I see is causing a number of Canon users to say they'll be switching to the Nikon D200 because they're tired of waiting for the "40D". .... Those posts really crack me up. I really think it's just hobbyists, who think that Canon is going to be threatened to be put out of business because 2 wanna-be hobbyist on an internet forum are threatening to buy a different brand. Jeez, Canon comes out with an updated DSLR every 4 weeks...WTF are these people complaining about??? What exactly will the 40D do that the 20D won't do, and not having this feature immediately is forcing someone to have to go out and buy a different brand of camera? That has amateur gear-head written all over it. Seriously though, hasn't the 30D been out less than a year?? Hell, even Glen just bought the 30D in the past year didn't he? So it obviously can't be that old! I don't keep up with Canon, but I do read the Olympus DSLR forum on DPReview ever week or two. And the armchair photographers do the same thing...try to make threats of buying a different brand of DSLR because Olympus hasn't came out with a pro body since the released the first true digital SLR in 2003. But it still begs the question...what does the E-1 lack that you have to have immediately or be forced to buy a different brand of camera. Please. Sure, it's only 5.1 megapixel, which is low by today's standards, but just how many megapixels does a hobbyist need to take pictures of their dog/cat/ugly girlfriend, or pictures of two people eating cake?
