Re: [Brackish] Hand strap for your camera - just like Jessica! [In reply to] Can't Post

I think it's a girl thing (or really weak man thing). That thing would drive me nuts.

Looks like she just saw a ghost. She needs some sunshine...or less makeup...or both.

I've never used one, but I figure they'd drive me nuts as well. And wouldn't it defeat the purpose of having a vertical grip on your camera?

I hate even having a neckstrap on my camera, but always end up putting it back on so that I don't drop it. I guess if you were shooting a wedding, you'd want a neckstrap for sure. Especially if you were carrying two bodies. A handstrap just seems like it would get in the way, and have your right elbow forced way up in the air for every vertical shot?

Yes and it's awesome! Do yourself a favour and get a hand strap.

I use those buttons too, it doesn't restrict it at all.

You could always go to a local camera store, pick up a generic one and see if you like it. If you don't, then return it. That's what I did but I really like using it.

As for the camera bags, I like those two, I think she did a great job on them. But, unlike the photo states, I do think they're geared more towards women. Well, some of the designs anyway.

No. Nor would I let a dude wearing a purse anywhere near my daughter.

What I want to know is how she works all day in those shoes!

I like the bags, they're cute. When I go out I often grab a purse and make it into a camera bag, I hate the ugly square camera bags.

I think she'll do well with her girlie camera bags. (Not so much with the bikers though).
Are they really $200?! I thought I read somewhere they started at $30.

Actually, I think the bags are kinda cute, too. Not cute for a GUY to carry, but they do look nice. Maybe not $200 cute, but perhaps $24.95 Target cute. Laugh They must be bigger on the inside than they look from the outside...I don't see how an extra body or a couple of extra lenses and accessories would fit in it.

I've spent tons of money on all sorts of camera bags, and still don't have one that is ideal.

BTW, for those looking for a handstrap, I've seen tons of new ones for sale on eBay for pretty cheap. Just double check the shipping charges, because often you can get them similarly priced at B&H, without getting ripped a new one for shipping which is standard practice on eBay.

Maybe it's a skooter. I would think man with a purse would go better on a skooter than a motor bike.

I had been considering a hand strap of some kind, but I like wrapping the neck strap around my arm when I'm shooting. Also, during the ceremony I carry two bodies so the neck strap is probably important.

Yes. I took the shoulder strap off. It bothered my neck and constantly pulled my hair. I never liked the neck strap.

.....For that "high end" look - or maybe that Texas look: ....

I'd for sure have to go with the snake skin grip. Laugh

I'm going to get one of my 35mm SLR's covered in black & white Cobra skin.... http://www.cameraleather.com/

One thing I do like about those Camdapter's, is it seems they have one that is actually the shape of a Manfrotto tripod plate, so that it will work with your tripod without having to stack the two things....which would suck. That's been my #1 reason for NOT trying a handstrap! http://www.camdapter.com/...t_manfrotto_std.html
