669 frames Can't Post

I took the most pictures I've ever taken at a wedding two weeks ago...669 pictures. The bride insisted she get every last raw image to pick from, so I furnished her with the entire lot. She contacted me today with her list of 'keepers'. She's having 651 pictures printed. So, I guess I'm kinda proud of the high ratio of good images there are. I'd rather shoot less photos that are good than more photos that are unusable. I read certain 'famous' wedding ThePhotogsLaugh who boast they shoot 7-9000 images and deliver 1200. All I have to say about that is HOW ON EARTH DID YOU GET FAMOUS?! Anybody with pro digital gear can do that. This same photographer claims you can't shoot formals with a lake as backdrop because it all blows out to white. He actually argued with a Mother on the issue (she wanted pics in front of the lake...he wanted them in front of a forest). Now, the funny part is when you learn he actually claimed earlier that shooting RAW is like being on training wheels, and he don't need no stinkin' training wheels...he's a famous photog! However, this poser obviously hasn't gotten his head around the concept of image bit depth yet. Yeah, it's a wee technical thing most Mac users like him tend to ignore. But the bottom line is if he shot RAW at 12bits instead of JPG at 8bits he might be able to make a nice portrait in front of a lake. I know I can.

Re: [DarrenS] 669 frames [In reply to] Can't Post

now dont go makin fun of my Macs... We shoot only RAW at our house. We even edit using RAW....at least until its time to get into photoshop. Aperture is incredible if you havent yet tried it.
