Wow! It's neat to see the extreme difference in where we live! There's some awesome color in those photos, very nice.

FWIW, my joke of a marriage was officially over a couple of weeks ago (I'm still trying to get confirmation), and our 1st anniversary isn't until SUNDAY! SlySlySly

Here's where I live, and the surrounding area....on the rare times I take a walk outside, I usually bring my 35mm...not exactly as pretty and colorful as where you live....just thought the contrast in our environments was interesting...Tongue

Okay, sometimes there's some color:

Rusty I know I get depressed sometimes thinking why did I invest so much in this woman putting her through college so she could get her degree and then take her six figure salary and leave? When I do get depressed I just pick up the 20D and head out to take some pictures and so far it at least gets my mind in a more neutral state to where I at least feel like going on. I have and always will put my kids ahead of me in everything and have to have trust in my lawyer that he can win my case. If I lose...I don't know what I would do.

I love metropolitan pictures and as soon as I have a free weekend and custody of my 16 year old daughter for the weekend we are planning on heading in to Chicago and checking into a hotel on Michigan Ave. and walking the town and parks to take pictures with the 20D. I love architecture and city scape pictures and Lord knows Chicago has some amazing buildings and sculptures. Contrasts in where we live? Yes but both are very interesting, yours is just more dynamic!

Rusty, those shots are as good as any I have seen of that type of environment. Very nice. I wish I could shoot that type of stuff. I guess I, um...need a camera first?

I just have a $20 Mamiya 35mm I got off eBay, and some cheap lenses and stuff. I'd like a new digital camera...a 6.1 Nikon D50 is only $649...but then you need lenses, memory sticks, flash, batteries, another camera bag... Besides, shooting 100% in manual with a real film camera is kinda fun...depsite the funny looks you get from the lab guy at Walgreen's. Laugh

The shallow DOF is a refreshing change from shooting with a video camera for work....my dining room table/coffee table/shipping counter/cat bed cover...you can't even see my editing desk in the background!

absolutely gorgeous. looks like an oil. for me, the blue at top removes static..as strange as that may sound. everyone's views are different of course.

thanks for sharing that :)

Rodo...that image is majestic! Very nice. I think I agree with Darren, try cropping a good majority of the the blue off the top and see what it looks like. The blue seems to be competing for attention right now and I think the attention should be focused on the fog layer and the town.

y'know, I just found myself staring into that photo for wayyyy too long. lol. (I'm on 34 hours no sleep).

I've changed my mind about the blue. Th e more I look at it the more it fits for me. Plus I tried cropping it and the 'horizon' goes too centered anyway.

Amazing image, especially considering how it was made.
