Uh oh, your turning into an "angler".... Shocked

I like taking pictures at the unusual angles too.Wink I think that is largely a product of our video back ground. Its nice that it distinguishes you from a great many of the traditional photographers out there.

As a matter of fact, I target the type that prefer the coffee table books along with many angles mixed in....
Knoxville is pretty slow to change, but it is gaining some contemporarians now.

Here is the coffe table kind of layout:

Beautiful work Jeko! I have something I'm working on that I think you will definately enjoy when I finish. I'll send you a link to view it but it will be something that I offer that is really what I call wedding art. It will be able to be taken a step further and expanded into the family portrait areas also. I do like the more interesting angles and always try to see things from different heights and angles for perspective differences. In the tree pictures we actually all climbed up in a tree in our front yard with me climbing up even higher for the downward shot which I liked. Then they asked for the camera so they could take this pic of me. I have to say I wish I would have posed them where I was standing as it is a very interesting background.

Storm,
I wanna see your back yard if what's show is your front yard. Smile

Pictures came out great. I'll agree with Jeko on the angles. Actually, I spend a good 20 min listening to one of the photographers at the NY Expo two weeks ago when the only thing he was talking about / showing were the advantages of non-conventional photography and angles. It was amazing what change in the angle could do to your images.

Did you even have to use flash for those shots? It seemed like you had planty of light to work with.

lol Marcin! Thanks on the pictures. I don't know if I NEEEDED the flash but I do think it added a little bling to the pics. I had it aiming straight up with the little white card up to deflect some of the light back at the subject. All these pics were straight out of the camera with no pp. Since you asked here are some other pics taken of the yard but these had no flash at all.

This is from the north front yard looking back towards the back yard.

This next one is from the north front yard looking south across part of the front yard. It goes all the way to where you can see the next farm field beginning so the green grass is mine and I have to mow it all!

These next ones are my Grainery which is full of 11,500 bushels of soybeans right now and then my Corn Crib (future studio if I'm able to hang on to this place) and lastly my barn. It has cement floors upstairs and down and is HUUUGGGEEE.

And here is a sunset from my backyard a few nights ago. It was absolutely stunning and the trees looked like they were on fire! I have this as my desktop background right now. Jessica Alba is on my other computerWink

I'm involved in a divorce right now and doing my best to be able to hang on to this property as it is very nice for meeting local clients but only the Lord knows if I'll be able to keep it. My lawyer seems to think it is most definately possible and if so I see some big things possible with that barn including receptions right in my backyard if I want them!

You got that right brother! Without getting in to a whole lot of detail she completely changed to the point that myself and three of my kids did not even know her any more. It got so bad I asked her to seek help or leave because the kids and myself were seeing the distruction that it was causing. We've been seperated for over a year now and are locked in a full custody battle which I'm confident I can win along with other things but I have to say, lawyers are very expensive!

After hearing (and seeing) all this, I'll have to say that having your interests set in this industry and the desire to capture those "special" moments is admirable. I hope the process will not be too bumpy for the three of you. Good luck!

Well it honestly started out as a hobby but when she took her $100,000+ a year salary with her I had to make it my job because as you can see from my surroundings, there ain't nothing else!Frown I do enjoy it but I have to say that sometimes my search for new music to inspire me leads to depression and I hit the wall creatively. Thats why I'm hoping for the photography thing to kick up because there is no music!

Where do you live I want to come visit?

Your place is lovely and hopefully you and your kids will have it for a lifetime. Good Luck. Your pics are great so I am sure you will be able to find a good balance betweent the two.

I understand the loosing of an income. My husband was hurt on the job two years ago and his benefits ran out quickly. Compensating for lost income is hard.

Good luck!!!

Re: [Beverly] A few stills from today to share with my friends and colleagues [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks Beverly! Without giving the exact location away I'll say that I'm located in northern Illinois. We moved here in 2000 after my soon to be ex got a promotion/transfer offer from her employer. She decided to accept this offer and asked me to quit my job that I was working at making $20hr. and become a stay at home dad and take care of the 4 kids and the house while remodeling the house and keeping it looking nice. I'd been at that job for 19 years and supported my wife so that she could go to school full time and become a Pharmacist. The first two years we lived out here I kind of gave up shooting weddings because no one out here knew of me and my services. After a couple of years though the word got out and so I slowly started my videography back up. When she left in 2004 I had to crank it up big time to try and survive. Now I'm fighting for custody and support.....It's not fun at all but it will be worth it in the end.

You do have a beautiful property, I love the color of the leaves. Hopefully everything will work out for the best. My thoughts are with you and your kids.

Re: [Beverly] A few stills from today to share with my friends and colleagues [In reply to] Can't Post

I was just down in Georgia this last July and am going back this upcoming July. My mother and her husband have a beautiful place on St. Simons Island. I had so much fun unwinding there (first vacation in years) with my 12 year old son and all my siblings and their families. Swimsuit and a tank top were the clothes of choice for a week! My FIL is trying to convince me to move my business down there and live with them until I get on my feet again. I would be for it but my 12 year old does not want to leave his friends and so I think for now we will try to stay up here but who knows? Thanks for the prayers Beverly. The house needs a lot of work but has a serious upside once it is all done. It would have been and could have been so much easier had my ex elected to stay but she wanted freedom to do whatever she wanted when she wanted and the kids and myself had to settle for what was left until it became not enough.Unsure

Thanks Julie! Your more than welcome to come out along with your daughter and help me out raking up the yard! We'll warm up some cider and have a barbeque and make a week of it....seriously, it takes that long! What I've been doing these past couple years is drag a great big tarp out there and rake the dry leaves on to it and then drag them back to the burn area and burn them. I swear sometimes the smoke gets so thick that I worry if the cars can see where they are going when the wind takes it across the road out front. I have 2 garden tractors and a lawn sweeper to pick them up just driving around the yard but honestly it just fills up so fast that you end up making more trips back and forth than you do picking up leaves so I stopped using it.

Bet you can make on heck of a pile to jump in out there though! And so much safer than around here. Every year, you hear of some poor kid that got run over by a car while playing in a pile of leaves left by the curb. One was run over and killed by her dad a couple of years ago. He didn't see them hiding in the leaves, and they didn't hear the car with the crunching sound the leaves make.

Ohh, that's so sad to hear! I would bet that is a scar that dad will wear for the rest of his life, so sadUnsure

I would love to one day pile up all the leaves in one big pile to jump in or play in but the problem is that they would completely stuff a 4 car garage easily and I'm talking stuff! I'm afraid that when I would go to light them up I would have a fire far too big that could easily spread into the surrounding farm fields and that would not be good. So what I do is load up a tarp and start that burn while I'm raking up the next tarp and it seems to work ok. I have a hose at the ready also because I gotta protect the Norway Spruce wind break which I'm sure saves me a lot of money in heating costs over the winter. I'll snap a picture when I get to raking so you can see what I'm talking about. Any volunteers to come help me rake? lol, didn't think so!Tongue

If you were closer, I'd come by to help in return for the thrill of jumping in a pile that would stuff a 4 car garage! I haven't raked in years here. I just keep mowing the grass and mulching the leaves to bits at the same time.

Re: [Postal_Boy] A few stills from today to share with my friends and colleagues [In reply to] Can't Post

It is a very nice place to live and I always say it is like living in a park for sure. I do wish the house sat back further from the 2-lane highway out front to reduce the sounds of cars and trucks going by but in the evenings it quites down and on the weekends, especially Sunday late afternoon onwards. Then it is so enjoyable to sit outside. There is a lot of work to keep it up with all the mowing and of course now the leaves. I hope this is the last place I ever live but it all depends on the outcome of my divorce for now. The house needs lots of work as the two previous owners lived in it and never invested to keep it up or improve it. I'm building solid Cherry kitchen cabinets and hope to put in a dark granite counter top also. The electric needs to be upgraded from the 60 amp current to probably 200 amp. Then the next project will be upgrading the bathrooms and then all the windows. When that is all done then I can look to converting the corn crib to my studio and theater for preview parties and more. Thanks for the compliment PostalWink

Looks like you would have enough room for a runway! A plane fired up in the yard would help mask the highway noise quite well!

Stop it WLR & Chicke! I LOVE FLYING and it is actually one of my goals to get my own private plane and learn to fly.TongueWink Your right it would blow the leaves pretty good. I should have some new flying footage up this weekend of from when I was flying in a open cockpit sport plane...way cool! It was like being on a motorcycle in the air with the wind blowing. I'll post a link when I get it up.
