Actions for photoshop Can't Post

I hope this isn't one of those questions that takes a lengthy answer...

I followed a link that is for downloading some great actions for use in photoshop/elements. I downloaded a bunch that I liked, unzipped them... now what. I can't figure out how to use them on the photos.

Is this an easy thing to do or do I need to go back to college to figure it out? Wink The help menu in photoshop wasn't much help.

Not sure if they work the same in Elements, but in PS I just double click on the action file which loads it into the actions pallate. Once you am ready to apply the action you just go to the bottom of the actions pallate and press the play button. Depending on the complexity of the action it will guide you through the steps with little help menus requiring you to stop and adjust to your liking or it will just run through the whole thing. Hope this makes sense..I just started using actions about a month ago, nifty little buggers.

To streamline in photoshop, you must learn actions. You ask a good question:

1. Find and open the "actions" menu (Window => Actions)
2. Click on the arrow in it's top right corner... brings up a sub-menu.
3. Select "Load Actions..." and find the new action you wish to add.

BTW, you may also prefer to leave the actions in Button Mode for one-click use of these actions.

If this doesn't work for you, list what version of PhotoShop you are using.

Sony VX2100's, iRivers, M-audio 24/96, Canon 5Ds/20Ds (and too much glass), Vegas6, PhotoShop CS3, Lightroom, etc.

No problem, again remember I am a novice PS user. I've been spending a lot of time with it over the past month trying to tackle it finally.

Lots os useful actions here: http://www.atncentral.com/
