Another Photoshop Question... Can't Post

I've been trying to figure this out, and looking in the "help" section but I can't get it....
How do you make a photo sepia in photoshop/photoshop elements ?

In Elements 3.0, there are a couple of ways...

In the "styles & effects" window, choose "Layer Styles", then "Photographic Effects", then "Sepia Tone".

Or from the menu bar at the top, you can go:
1. Enhance>Adjust Color>Remove Color
THEN
2. Enhance>Adjust Color>Color Variations>Select "midtones">Increase Red>Decrease Blue (adjust saturation amount if necessary)
3. And you can optionally add noise using the Add Noise filter if you like that sorta thing.

I had to look it up in the help file, too, when I got Elements. It was called "creating an old-fashioned picture" or something like that.

Good luck!

Thanks Rusty!

Silly me, I was looking in the help file for "sepia". I tried the colour variations thing but wasn't doing it the right way, I ended up with purple pictures.

No on to packing my bags for the outdoor wedding today in the heat...uuhh.

There are a number of great actions here:

My particular favorite is the Thomas Neiman Tones about 3/4 of the way down the page. It gives you 7-8 different tones to try out. I have been having lots of fun with the actions on that site.

No problem, I think Clock is the guy that turned me on to that site...I've spent hours there trying new things and learning.

The easist way I have found is to make a new fill layer of colour over the desaturated original and try different blending modes and opacity. With masks and selections you have infinite choice on how it is coloured
